Dear Zendure users,

Throughout the operation of HEMS, Zendure has continuously collected and evaluated your feedback regarding mode logic and user experience.
Every valuable suggestion helps us better understand our users' wishes and create a simpler, clearer energy management system.

After careful analysis and refinement, the goals and direction of this mode update have been set:
■ Streamlined Modes & Optimized Logic
Too many options often cause confusion. We have therefore reduced the number of modes and structured their logic more clearly. They now precisely match your real-world usage scenarios, making your selection intuitive and simple.
■ Clear Instructions for Effortless Configuration
To avoid any ambiguity, the update now offers detailed guidance when switching modes:
· Function Overview: What the mode does.
· Prerequisites Check: Ensures smooth operation.
· Optional Settings: For individual preferences. This way, you understand the system behavior in advance and ensure that each mode runs under optimal conditions.
■ Transparent ZENKI Decisions
Trust is built on transparency: You can now directly view the schedule and the charge/discharge logic of the ZENKI mode. This makes the automatic energy distribution comprehensible to you at all times and ensures a reassuring user experience.

Following the update, HEMS comprises a total of five main modes, which are described as follows ↓↓↓

Auto Mode: Fully automatic operation without intervention

—— Auto Mode makes energy decisions automatically based on the real-time system status. It continuously balances generation, consumption, and storage to ensure stable and efficient operation. This mode works right out of the box without any additional configuration.
Target Group: Users who want simple and straightforward handling.
Required Configuration: None
Configurable Options: Electricity tariff (Supports fixed-price, dynamic, or time-of-use tariffs)

Zenki Mode: AI-based intelligent optimization

—— Zenki Mode works with an intelligent optimization that holistically considers power generation, consumption habits, and electricity price information to determine the optimal time for charging, discharging, or storing energy.
—— In addition, every system behavior (charging, discharging, or standby) follows a clear, traceable logic; the decision-making process is transparent and thus easy for the user to understand.
Target Group: Users who want to make AI-optimized energy decisions.
Required Configuration: Smart Meter (for consumption monitoring); System location (for weather forecasts); Electricity tariff (Supports fixed-price, dynamic, or time-of-use tariffs).
Configurable Options: None

Self-Consumption Mode: Maximize solar usage, reduce grid dependence

—— Self-Consumption Mode prioritizes local PV generation to keep both grid consumption and grid feed-in as low as possible.
—— If generation exceeds household demand, the system stores the excess electricity in the battery or feeds it into the grid, depending on the situation.
Target Group: Users who value energy self-sufficiency and a high solar utilization rate.
Required Configuration: Smart Meter (for consumption monitoring).
Configurable Options: None
Prioritization of System Behavior:
[Solar Generation]: Household consumption > Battery charging > Grid feed-in (if permitted)
[Household Consumption]: Solar generation > Battery discharging > Grid power
[Battery Charging]: Exclusively via solar generation

TOU Mode: Optimization through electricity price differences

—— TOU (Time-of-Use) Mode is a price-driven energy management strategy. The system continuously evaluates current electricity prices to decide when energy should be charged, discharged, or stored.
—— Unlike purely time-based control, the core of this mode lies in its reaction to price signals, which effectively reduces electricity costs.
Target Group: Users who want to utilize electricity price fluctuations and optimize costs.
Required Configuration: Smart Meter (for consumption monitoring); Electricity tariff (Dynamic or time-of-use tariff).
Configurable Options: Definition of high-price and low-price zones; Setting the minimum SoC for standard-price phases (to guarantee sufficient discharge capacity during high-price phases).

Custom Mode: Full control over system behavior

—— Custom Mode offers maximum freedom. You can define how the system works according to your own rules, e.g., the charging and discharging times as well as the battery power.
—— Unlike other modes, this mode is not based on predefined optimization logic, but is executed strictly according to your personal specifications.
Target Group: Users with personalized strategies who want precise control over their system.
Required Configuration: None
Configurable Options: Charge/Discharge schedule
